So our basement keep flooding this past month. Every night it would flood. Kevin bought a alarm thing that when the water would hit it, it would beep, the beeping is a loud sound. It would go off every 4 hours and that was a joke. We had to shop vac it up, not fun. I felt so bad for the renters and Kevin. They both would take turns cleaning up the water. So a week of this crap we had to find the problem, we were really hoping it was not coming in from the walls. We looked at the walls and no leaks, so then we thought maybe it was the sump pump that was going out. Sure enough it was. It was not working. Kev took the old one out and it was about 30 years old. (give or take a few years) So we bought a new one, one that will work really good. So we hope. Kev is so good he hooked the thing up and ran outside to see if it worked. It did. He said it was like Christmas all over again because he saw water coming from the pipe. We were all happy. Now that it's Feb we have not had any problems at all. The only thing we need to worry about is the water freezing over the pipe outside. If that happens we will be in trouble again. So far it's ok. But with this stupid weather it could happen. Kev left for work today and it was 0 dreges outside. It sure feels like -100(lol) I hate having to leave the house when it's that cold. I want to have a fire place that works and read my book. Oh well I guess that's the way life is.

  1. What's wrong with your fireplace? It sure is cold in Idaho too. But you can come sit on my couch by our fireplace and read a book.

  2. Hang in there Kim! My opinion is you should be grateful. Even if the pipe freezes you will feel better if you're grateful. It's true. :) love ya!
