Birthday Boy!

Today is Kevin's Birthday. He is now 28. (Big Guy)

Last night I threw him a surprise party at our house. I don't have any pictures, but just so you all can get a idea in your head. His face was priceless. He had no idea I was planning a party. I have been planning it for 2 weeks now. It was a great success. It was getting tricky when it come down to going to dinner. Let me just say, I pulled it off.
Ok first thing. I had gotten Kayla to babysit like 2 weeks ago. She was so excited. Then the tree's fell down and we had to spend the whole day helping clean up the tree's. I needed to make a cake, So I ended up doing it over at Sharon's. I was also getting the plates and cups ready, all while he was at the dump with the tree branches. Then the cake was not done, but Kevin wanted to go home and get some stuff done. I am like ok. Thinking I need to get the cake back here though by 5. How am I going to pull that off? So Brad said, "Kim take my truck with the tree in it, then bring it back, then I will bring you back home with the cake." Perfect I said. So I take the truck, with the tree. I work really fast to clean up and get the tree up so that way I have more time to get everything done. Well that all worked out, then we are done with the tree and Kevin said He doesn't want to go out tonight because he has to study and was to tired from the tree work. Um no, we need to go out, We have people coming over at 7. So yeah buck up and lets go. Did I say that? No.
I simply said, I think it would be nice to just get out, you can pick out your gift at Kohl's. Kayla is already planning on coming over so lets just stick to the plan. He said yes, not wanting to, but we left. Now we have 2 Kohls one in Layton, and one in Clinton. We always go to Clinton. But last night I made a point to go to Layton, and then the mall. Well this was the tricky part. We live by a cemetery and always pull around the back. I couldn't have us go though the parking lot because of the cars in the back. Not a good idea. So I had to say lets go to the Wendy's on 89, I like it better. (all the same but still), that way we can pull up in the front and not the back. Man it was tricky. Then we get to Wendy's and Kevin gets food. I was so nervous I didn't get much to eat. So we pull in the front and get in the house, I am just standing there, and he goes, "will you just walk in the house" I go down the hall and everyone is there, and we all say surprise. Kevin just stood there for about 1 min and thinking what is going on. It was awesome. He had no idea. He then asked how I pulled it off. I told him how hard it was to do things different and not go to the same stores, or the same way home. He was so out of it yesterday he didn't think about it. But looking back he said he should have picked up on all the clues. They were right in front of him. The cake, the Wendy's on 89, the Kohls in Layton. We need to go out. Just little things. But we all had fun and played games, and just enjoyed each other company. He said I will never get away with that again! Good because it was tricky the first time!

What kinda surprises have you done for someone else?

Christmas Tree

So this tree is the top of Sharon and Brad's tree from when it fell down. We took it home and made it our own tree. Kevin likes to say, " Honey it's our Christmas tree and it looks great."
Man I sure love the way he is so positive.

Do you have a real or fake tree this year?

The wind storm!

Thursday was a big wind storm. This is what happened to the trees. Sharon lost 2 pine trees, and Larry and Judy lost a 50 foot tree in the front yard. Thank goodness no big time damage was done. We all pulled together Saturday morning to do a South Weber clean up. It was crazy, but kinda fun. It's so crazy what a wind storm can do.

So the Vegas trip was so much fun.
We went with no KIDS. I know sad right, but over all it was fun. I did miss my GIRLS so much. I do think Kevin and I needed this trip more then anything right now. It was worth it. Even though Vegas can be a very dirty town, we mad the best of it. We ate out like every night. Some of the things we did were this.

1. Walked the Strip
2. Saw a Magic show and I was a volunteer and I loved it. He was so good.
3. We rode the New York New York Ride. Jenny and were together. I think I liked it more then her.
4. Ate at the Cheesecake Factory. I loved the food, so freaking good. I am happy they have one in salt Lake.
5. Hot tub in the morning. Was so nice to just sit and enjoy.
6. Saw the Bellagio Hotel and Water show. My most favorite thing to do while in Vegas. It's just peaceful
7. We went to some MMA gyms. I have never seen a gym type thing before and I loved it. we got to meet some fighters. It was pretty cool.
8.Saw Phantom of the Opera. I loved it. I can't get over how good it was. The whole show was wonderful. The way they did the stage, the music, songs, the love story. It was just wonderful.
9.Shopping at the outlets. I got a bottle of perfume I have never had one before and I am glad I got it.
10. Spent the whole weekend with Kevin. It was great to be with him and just have a good weekend with each other.

(Have you ever left for a weekend with no kids? If so where did you go?)

Ok, so I know there are a ton of pictures, But this month was busy.
I am not a fan of HALLOWEEN, but this year was different. It was so much fun watching Kanyon TRICK or TREAT. She did a great job, she ran from house to house, she was so cute about it, said thank you to about every house, and even a few homes she said "LOVE YOU"... so cute. Kallie was so cute in her little pig, she didn't want the hood on, but we kept putting it on anyways. What a joy. We also were able to go to a CORN MAZE with some friends (Matt and Jenny). That was so much fun. It had been a long time sinse we had gone. I hope next year we can do a haunted house. Kanyon and Kallie are still scared of little things like that. Kanyon was scared of our house at first. She would say in her little girl voice " Scared of the house mom" I would say "oh KANYON it's ok, it's not real"
Kanyon is now in preschool and dance. She will ask everyday if she is going to preschool or dance. she has learned some really fun songs at school, she sings them all the time... so cute. Kallie will start to sing with her in the car and stuff. It's super cute. Kallie wants to be like her big sister so much. They get along pretty good, I just LOVE my girls.
So pretty much this month flew by. I am sure the rest of the year will also. Crazy.

(What were you and your kids for HALLOWEEN?)
